They’re our pride. A separate company, built by the community we helped grow. Now we support each other — and the neighbourhood supports us both.
How Lizeth built a world-leading walking tour organisation from a community classroom.
Lizeth started where everyone starts — in the Stairway to English classroom in Comuna 13. She learned English alongside her neighbours, practised with international volunteers, and found she had a gift: she could tell the story of her neighbourhood in a way that moved people.
An estimated 90% of Zippy’s guides came through this same pathway. What started as a classroom grew into something the community owns — a tour company that is now recognised as one of the best walking tour experiences in Latin America.
We didn’t just learn English — we learned how to tell our story. That’s what tourists come for. Not a script. A real person, from a real community, with a real story to tell.
— Lizeth, Founder of Zippy Tours15 guides. All community-trained. This is what Primed builds — the admin system that keeps them organised.

What Primed offers Zippy. What Zippy gives back.
Zippy Tours is a separate, independent company. They are not owned by, employed by, or controlled by Primed Community. The relationship between us is exactly what you see on this page: shared history, mutual respect, and a transparent agreement where booking through Primed means a small donation goes back to the community programs that helped build Zippy. We call them our pride — because that’s what they are.
Every Booking Gives Back
Same incredible tour. Same Zippy guides. The only difference: a donation goes to the community programs that trained them.
Every tour booked through Primed feeds these programs.
New cohorts of community English learners becoming guides, mentors, and entrepreneurs.
Expanding the model into new communities across Medellín and beyond.
Sembremos gardens, Bailemos dance, Parcharte art — the programs that make the community whole.
Book a tour. Fund a classroom. Watch the next generation build something of their own.
